I was shocked to see the recent video of a driver attacking a group of cyclists during a Critical Mass cycling event in Brazil. This is like someone holding a gun in a supermarket, shotting everyone in front of his queue. Eric Britton, editor of WorldStreet posted many useful questions in his post .
It makes me wonder why we even allow car producer to make such powerful killing machines? Should the law set a much lower speed limit for cars and make it technically impossible to drive faster than the speed limit?
On a personal note, I would like to ask all the drivers a simple question: “How much of your income is used to support the car?” “Is the car serving you or actually is the other way around? These questions has led me to switch to cycling 7 years ago.
My thought is with the victims cyclists and their families. I wish them a fast recovery.
