Happy try bike

Elvira try JZ88 folding bike
"I feel like flying!"

Elvira wants to try our bike because…

“I live in toa payoh and have an office there but am a freelancer and am mostly traveling round. Projects are mainly in the east at this moment”

Therefore she intended to combine JZ88 with MRT, Taxi or just ride all the way if weather and distance permit.
Apart from light weight and compact (within luggage limit of SMRT), she was attracted by the shopping trolley mode and really likes the theft-proof benefit.

When Elvira came over to collect the trial bike she told us that she lived in Holland for 12 years and just recently came back. Being exposed to how cycling can be part of everyday commute for most there, she feel strongly that she should be able to do so in Singapore. However, road safety has been a key concern here. Therefore when she read Francis’s blog post about cycling-to-work-in-Singapore (2004) she feel very strongly that commuting cycling can help her to keep fit and she should give our folding bike a try.

Elvira wanted to cycle back to Toa Payoh from Geylang East, which happen to be the same route as Francis took when he cycle to work. With a brief instruction she went off. 40 minutes late we got her SMS saying:

“I am back, thanks. I feel like flying!”.

Found Sakura, in Hamburg

Traveling with a folding bike always brings me nice surprises. If not on my bike, I won’t be exploring so far away from my hotel and will never discover this small and beautiful patch of Sakura land in Hamburg.

Survey on cycling in Singapore by Zing Lim

From Zing Lim:
——————————-
Hello! This is a survey about cycling in Singapore. Whether you already cycle, don’t cycle or cannot cycle, I’d like to hear from you. I’m trying to measure the latent demand for cycling as a form of transport.

Not many people here cycle for transport. Too hot? Roads unsafe? No bike? Just don’t like cycling? And if we could change certain things, would you cycle for transport? Tell me and tell me why.

This survey is online and takes about 20 mins. Whether you like cycling or not, please share your honest opinion. And when you’re done, please pass the survey to your friends! Every response counts.

Here’s the link: http://abetterride.wordpress.com/

Many thanks,
Zing Lim

eBike 2 work – Sweat Free!

Alex, Siok Foon and the new eBike
Alex, Siok Foon and the new eBike

Alex has been considering cycle to work for a few years, but never really take that critical step. He used to ride MTB and road bike. He is not afraid of cycling on road. However, like many, without a shower at work it makes cycling to work quite impossible; no body want to work with sweat stint the whole day!

When Alex saw our new eBike his long gave up idea suddenly becomes more feasible. He can ride to the MRT station near his house, bring the bike on-board the train, and ride the remaining 7km to work from the other end of the MRT trip. If Alex so prefer, he can finish the entire trip without breaking a sweat.

The super-lightweight and foldable eBike (Model 2011) change the game play. Here is smiling Alex with his new toy, accompanied by Siok Foon, daughter of Uncle Lau– what a coincident!

One day and one eBike left

Amy told me it is Adriane who want the eBike and Adriane admitted that he want to use the eBike to join the lovecycling ride. I think that’s great! Looking forward to ride with you Amy and Adriane together!
Sam came later due to busy work but I can tell she really like the eBike. She said she enjoy riding with her children in the park. That’s really wonderful to hear- I think enjoying cycling as a family is the best way to develop bonding and also cultivate a sense of independent in children.
Now I’ve got only one more eBike to go. If you are interested please be fast!
